The award-winning Villa Alcuzcuz by UDesign

1.323 m2 OF PURE DESIGN

VILLA ALCUZCUZ

Villa Alcuzcuz is Marbella’s first avant-garde luxury house designed and built under Passive House regulations and standards. Just five minutes from the coast and ten minutes from Marbella, it is located in the gated community of the exclusive Reserva de Alcuzcuz, on the Ronda road. The villa is currently under construction with a completion date of February 2021.

PASSIVE HOUSE
MEANS ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Passive House is the world’s leading standard in energy efficient construction. The Passive House Standard means quality, comfort and energy efficiency, guaranteeing more than 75% saving on energy costs compared to a standard build.

BEST DESIGN IN EUROPE

At the 2019 European Property Awards Villa Alcuzcuz was awarded the 5-star prize for Spain, winning Best Architecture Single Residence, Spain. It then went on to win the coveted Best In Europe prize in the same category at the finals of the International Property Awards. Established in 1993 the these awards are recognised as the most prestigious in the world, covering the globe from Chile to China. They are judged by a panel of 80 international independent experts in all aspects of design and architecture, with an emphasis not only on design and innovation, but also on sustainability.

Villa Alcuzcuz, having already won the 5-star award for Best in Spain, received the top award “Best Architecture Single Residence, Europe” from the International Property Awards.

THE FORMAL LOUNGE, A ROOM DESIGNED TO IMPRESS

The high ceiling running into two floors, the lighting an imposing design element in itself and the large mural on the wall – it all adds to the splendour of this space. A perfectly symmetrical room with the ceiling lights redefining the sky and two warriors inviting us to look outwards – this is designer opulence at its best.

A TERRACE WITH 5 DISTINCT AREAS

This magnificent terrace has a sunbathing area, a fire pit with comfy sofas and a terrace area for each living space – the formal lounge, the family TV room and the kitchen/dining area. All areas enjoy magnificent views down the valley to the Mediterranean Sea.

DESIGNED TO BE FUNCTIONAL AS WELL AS BEAUTIFUL

The kitchen and dining areas have stunning views, which is not surprising, given that the house was designed to maximise the views from every single room.
In classic Bright design thinking, the outside merges perfectly with the inside: the floor-to-ceiling window opens to provide direct access across a walkway to the vertical herb garden where, all year round, one can pick parsley, rosemary, mint, basil and other herbs, or in season, one can treat oneself to oranges and lemons in the mini orchard.

WHERE LUXURY MEETS
SUSTAINABILITY

Villa Alcuzuz is the first large, luxury home on the Costa del Sol that respects the environment and is built in accordance with the Passive House Regulations and Standards.

COMFORT & STYLE IN THE FAMILY TV ROOM

The open plan design of the villa allows you to watch television without losing sight of the outside views, while also providing a line of sight across the formal lounge towards the kitchen. With only a wall of glass separating the TV room from the terrace, the inside and outside spaces simply merge into one.

DESIGNER DETAILS

No details are too small and each room in Villa Alcuzcuz is filled with designer touches. In the ground floor guest bathroom, for example, the gold leaf porcelain panels and dramatic panther wall mural, makes visiting the bathroom an experience in itself.

THE MASTER BEDROOM SUITE

Wake up to this view! Glass walls provide more than 180-degree views with natural light entering from almost every angle. This is a luxury suite designed to 5-star hotel standards. Features include a workspace and custom-built cupboards covering 20 linear metres allowing for a clutter-free environment. The walk-in “his-and-hers” wardrobes are connected to the bathroom by a naturally-lit hallway.

STAYING IN IS THE NEW GOING OUT

In Villa Alcuzcuz home entertainment takes on a new meaning: a magnificent 519 m2 space with a sunken cinema area, sports bar, games area with pool table, VIP seating areas, DJ booth, state-of-the art golf simulator, fully equipped gym, wellness zone with treatment rooms, relaxation areas and ladies & gents bathrooms.

MAKING HEALTH & RELAXATION A PRIORITY

The Spa, Wellness and Beauty area consists of a fully-fitted gym, space for yoga, treatment zones for massages, facials and pedicures, as well as a hair dressing salon.

LOW CARBON FOOTPRINT

Buildings are responsible for up to 36% of the pollution in our cities, compared to 13% that comes from car emissions, and they consume around 40% of primary energy. Energy efficiency is part of the essence of the Passive House concept, developed in the 1980’s in Germany in order to build houses with minimum energy consumption, and if at all possible, null consumption. Bright is proud to have developed Marbella’s first Passive House and hopes that others will follow the initiative.

WHAT IS A PASSIVE HOUSE?
